Our ideology is inspired from the Vedas. Using the knowledge available in our vedas, we have developed RodrepelTM which is extremely low toxic and low hazard animal aversive. The ancient Vedas have several references in them on environmental protection, ecological balance, and conservative eco-friendly apiculture.
This ancient Indian knowledge on traditional repellent plants obtained through studies is a valuable resource for the development of new natural products. There have been many natural remedies developed and mentioned in Ayurveda to tackle pests without killing them. In ancient Indian agricultural practices, pests were always considered to be part of the system itself.
There are about 3000 plants and trees with insecticidal and repellent properties in the world, and India is home to about 70 per cent of this floral wealth. Traditionally, almost all the crop pests and insects attacking stored grains were managed only with the botanical derivatives. Simple extracts from plants (either from the leaves, barks or seeds) were used as insecticides and repellents.
It is evident that from ancient times pests like rodents and insects were always repelled and not killed considering their importance in balancing our ecological system. Thus, in today’s times also we need a solution which is effective, long-term and green to combat the pest menace! Our Research based on these ancient technology combines microencapsulation and sustained release of these special plant extracts, essential oils and vegetal matter into modern systems.
